Adobe CS3 Adobe Demonstrates CS3 on MacBook Pro

 Adobe's InDesign product manager Chad Siegel visited London this month to show a selection of new InDesign features to Macworld UK. Using a MacBook Pro, Siegel offered a glimpse at a number of time-saving features that focus on designers, but stressed these to be no more than a small selection of some of the features the company is working on. "We're investing in workflow," he explained, promising better integration between all the products to be shipped within Creative Suite 3. He even shows some of the powerful image import and editing features that will be made available within the next iteration of Photoshop.

Adobe Patches Photoshop and Illustrator Flaws
|
Web and print publishing software maker Adobe Systems has pushed out security patches to cover a potentially serious code execution flaw in the Adobe Creative Suite 2 platform. The flaw, which carries an "important" rating, affects Adobe Creative Suite 2, Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Illustrator CS2 on both Windows and Mac OS platforms.

|
Dubbed Adobe Photoshop CS2, the new release promises better tools to fix common image problems such as red eye and blemishes, as well as updated support for raw, or uncompressed, images. The software is expected to start shipping in May. Adobe says it added numerous features to Photoshop CS2 in response to requests from users and the changing needs of the digital imaging industry. A new spot healing brush will fix blemishes, red-eye and distortion from camera lenses. Users will also be able to scale images with less quality loss than previous Photoshop versions.

Adobe Beta Tests 'Designer' XML Form Tool
|
Adobe has begun external beta tests of Adobe Designer 6.0, a graphical XML form design tool. Designer falls into the "generation" branch of Adobe's Intelligent Document Platform strategy, and automates form-base workflows. The Intelligent Document Platform generates, processes, and secures documents in the enterprise. When combined with other Adobe document products and services, Designer connects to backend systems to automate business processes and collaboration between internal and external users. The software features a drag-and-drop interface with form elements based upon XML schema. To support migrations to XML, data can be imported from existing PDF and Microsoft Word templates. Completed forms are accessed through a Web browser or with Adobe’s Acrobat Reader.
