In the last few years, ASUS has made an effort to expand into the growing CD-RW drive market. This past fall we took a look
at their 24/10/40 CD-RW, the CRW-2410S. Admittedly, I went into that review expecting to see nothing other than a Sanyo
BP1500 clone with a new bezel and an ASUS logo. The CRW-2410S surprised me by being anything but that. While it was based on
the Sanyo design, ASUS's engineers had worked their own magic on the drive. Instead of slowing down when writing to some
media like many other drives do, the CRW-2410S had the amazing ability to shift the places where it changed speeds. Doing it
this way still guaranteed very good writing quality, but at the same time gave the drive some excellent writing times.
