Browser Hijack Blaster
Description: Browser Hijack Blaster protects your system from browser hijackers and spyware that alters your Internet Explorer settings.
Running silently in the background, Browser Hijack Blaster only springs into action when an attempt is made. It watches and protects the following items: IE Homepage, IE Default Page, IE Search Page, BHOs

No-Aura

Silencer
Description: Silencer offers a different approach. It can be used if you would like to keep the adware product but not have it communicate. It disables communications between your adware and its "mother ship" by disabling the latter's URLs in your hosts cache by pointing them all to 127.0.0.1 (or any other IP). Please note that although you are justifiably upset that these stealth communications are going on in your computer, you might actually be in violation of your EULA if you disable them - so use it for educational or troubleshooting use only.

What does Silencer do?
It adds entries to the Windows host file that map adserver requests to your own machine. It's kinds like forwarding unsolicited phonecalls to a phone number that doesn't have a phone hooked up to it. They'll still be calling... but will hear them nor ever pick up the phone :-)
Do not use this if you are on a network, since your sysadmin may get really upset if you mess with the Host file.

SpyBot-S&D Search & Destroy
Description: SpyBot-S&D searches your hard drive for so-called spy- or adbots; little modules that are responsible for the ads many programs display. But many of these modules also transmit information about your surfing behaviour and more to the net. If SpyBot-S&D finds such modules, it can remove them - or replace them with empty dummies in case their host software won't run with its bot removed. In most cases, the host still runs fine after removing the bot. Another feature of Spybot S&D is the removal of usage tracks, which makes it more complicated for unknown spybots to transmit useful data. The list of last visited websites, opened files, started programs, cookies, all that and more can be cleaned. Supported are the three major browsers Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator and Opera. Last but not least Spybot-S&D contains some routines to find and correct invalid entries into the registry.
